This was Jason's second... actually... first Triathalon - well, Biathalon... in reality.
You see, last October, Jason signed up for the St. George Tri. He was pumped and ready to go, everyone was in the water ready to start the swim- and then they called the whole event off on account of a storm that had started to roll in. Huge bummer!
So this year looked promising, the sky was clear and it was a bright and sun shiny day- except for the 40+ mile an hour winds! So once again, Jason got ready for the swim to begin, but so many of the Olympic Tri swimmers who had already started the swim had to be rescued, they felt it was better to cancel the swim for everyone and only do the Bike/Run part. Sadly Jason and the hundreds of others trudged off to their bikes, only to become BI-athletes that day.
It was still a great day and Jason did very well for his first time. He was fast coming out for the bike and I just about missed him on the way in, and he did really well on the run portion too! Under a 7.5 min/mile in the sand! He finished 12th in his age division and 113th out of about a thousand people in the whole race. Good job Hun!
So what's next! The St. George Marathon in October and perhaps a fun little jaunt to Mexico next May for the Rocky Point Triathalon...

That is awesome! It kind-of stinks though about the swimming part...there is always next time, right? We will keep our fingers crossed that the weather will cooperate! I sure hope you are feeling good! The last two weeks are torture! Honestly, if you need any thing...advice, help, food, whatever...let me know! I just saw Logan yesterday and he is too cute!!! How lucky your boy will be to have a cousin so close! I am so excited for you and wish you luck with a speedy, pain-free delivery! :)
Way to go Jason!
